Our Impact

Who We Serve

Our beneficiaries are children aged 4 to 12 years old who are left unattended and unsupervised during the school holidays because their parents are working.

Secondary school students who usually acts as facilitators during the school holiday programs. This program is beneficial for them as they are also left unattended by their parents during the school holidays. They are also bored and as a result, they are also at risk of engaging in antisocial behaviour that can then lead to serious social ills. Adolescents and young adults of both sexes reaching out to girls and young women, including out-of-school youth who are unemployed.

Adult facilitators who helped to run Holiday Program. They benefit through learning how to address health, social and emotional issues with their own children. They are also kept busy during the holidays and feel gratified to be contributing to the well-being of the children and youth as well as positively contributing to their own communities.

Parents can work in peace, produce more increasing productivity, knowing that their children are in safe and secure environments.

The community benefit from more orderly and prosocial behaviour in the streets, with fewer antisocial incidents.

Where We Work

Survival Ark Foundation has up to now concentrated most of its work in the northern region of Mahé – Seychelles’ main island. Three districts are fed into both primary and secondary schools; where we often have access to them. We are also very active at community level, often going to homes as well as at community centres, in some local churches and of course, our main office. Nevertheless, we do have children and parents from all other region who do attend some f the programs, specially the holiday programs and youth activities as we network with our local partners.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak -New programs are also being developed to help student/families cope specially in education related areas. The groups will be divided by age and sex whenever appropriate to ensure the enjoyment and safety for all. Child protection measures will be primordial in all considerations when conducting the activities. Health and safety measures, including the recommendations of the Ministry of Health to prevent the spread of COVID-19, will also be at the centre of all programmes to ensure the physical and psychological welfare of all – participants, volunteers and facilitators alike.
